I've forgiven myself enough, I think, to get back to this. And even if I haven't completely forgiven myself, I'm going to have to keep moving forward.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Whatever weight it is I lost after the efforts listed in the previous posts here, it is no longer off my body. I gained back the pounds I dropped. And, of course, it took another round of rejection, to get my shit together and motivate me to get in shape.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;My new favorite trick? Drinking a 20oz triple shot latte for breakfast, and then a 16oz whey protein shake for lunch. I'm slowly getting my stomach back down to normal size, by starving a little. This is usually the first thing I have to do. Starve a little. It doesn't help with the weight loss, but it stops the wild fire which is my appetite when I'm depressed.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Next step is going back to the gym. I'm excited. :)&lt;br /&gt;I'm not as excited to stop drinking beer. But it has to happen.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I just set myself back to June 2011 for a real goal date of 150 for a real goal weight. 1 year, ~60 pounds. If I keep backsliding, I'll never get done here. (That statement pertains to more than just my weight.) I have to keep going. I felt so amazing when I was working out before. Stronger, faster, better. I want that again. And I almost went jogging, like, once. Because the rest of the time I was spending every day walking miles and miles.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;One day, we came home and just laid around for a half an hour--confused as to why we were so exhausted, we figured out that we had walked over five miles, just on the way home that night. What with exercising all day (i.e. climbing 400 spiral stairs up in Notre Dame--there are no landings in that bad boy), and eating exceptionally healthy foods, my sister declared we were on the "Paris diet". So I lost weight on vacation.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Come on. You can't say that too often. So I'll say it again.&lt;br /&gt;I lost weight. On vacation.&lt;br /&gt;Which leads me to my next happy statement:&lt;br /&gt;I've lost over 20 pounds in the last 2 months.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Now, I know. Lawyer told me not to bother looking at the scale. But it was about the time I realized I could pull my pants a few inches away from my stomach that I started to wonder how much I weighed.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Still, I've been out of the gym a solid four weeks, and it is time to get back on it. No matter HOW painful it is to have to work out with all the Greek undergrads. Ugh. Tonight I got in there and it was jam-packed, almost on every floor. The weight room had a &lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;waiting line&lt;/span&gt;. So to the cardio room I went...&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Just have to get back in the swing of things. It felt good to go, though. And I haven't gone back since. Although I literally did sweat out 3 more pounds while I had that fever. Bringing my weight loss to 15-18 lbs since July 11th.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;It would probably be more, except that I love beer. And smoking. A lot.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;u&gt;11 August 2009&lt;/u&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Vacation for the next two weeks will prevent me from doing any kind of charted, in-gym workouts, but I expect walking around and sightseeing for 14 days will burn some calories too. So tonight I kicked out a 40-minute cardio session and then about an hour of lifting.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Treadmill&lt;br /&gt;1 mile (~17 min)&lt;br /&gt;5% incline&lt;br /&gt;3.5 mph&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;0.75 mile (~15 min)&lt;br /&gt;7% incline&lt;br /&gt;3.5 mph&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;0.25 mile (~4 min)&lt;br /&gt;3% incline&lt;br /&gt;3.5 mph&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;0.25 mile (~4 min)&lt;br /&gt;7% incline&lt;br /&gt;3.5 mph&lt;br /&gt;Because I'm a stubborn brat.&lt;br /&gt;And I wanted that 1 mile of 7%.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;No breaks, no water, no food beforehand. This was a weak performance. I was miserable when I got done. Carpet</title><content type='html'>"I have this way of getting turned off easily."&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Let's just reflect on the honesty of that statement for a minute. because this one factor is why I didn't want to (and don't want to) get too far too fast. I've always wondered if the most important aspect of an investment isn't just the kinetics of making the deal. You can sometimes make a deal on Monday that you couldn't make on Tuesday. Or you can sell someone a stock on Thursday, but they should have bought it Wednesday, because by Friday it's meaningless. What does this have to do with you and me? To be blunt, I can't tell what day it is.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;3 things can happen here.&lt;br /&gt;1. you fall for me, you stay with me, we raise great kids.&lt;br /&gt;2. you fall for me, fall out of love [easily] because of something I do, and leave&lt;br /&gt;3. you don't really fall for me--think you fall for me, but don't--and leave&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;So. this already has like a 33% success rate. I know cancer patients who have better odds than that. Fuck. I know interstellar galactic exploration satellites, blown off into the black vacuum of space, that have a higher expected success rate than that.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;What it comes down to is that I know we're very alike. In... many, many ways. I was about to count them, but realized I was going to, well, get bored and quit, if I tried. And I couldn't ask for a better segueway than that. You and I, we get bored and quit. We get turned off by something even slightly aberrant to the Way It Should Be, slightly divergent from the pictures we have in our heads, and then it's game over. There's very little chance of reignition.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I know this, because I'm like that. And you're like me. Ergo, I know you're like that, too. So what's to say that we don't get into this, get going with this, and then stop, stare at each other one day, and just say, "No." What's to say I'm not going to bore you. Who's to say that all my flaws won't stick a fork in your fever.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;You know what. Fuck it. It's fine. I should go along for the ride. I should shut my mouth, hunker down, and go with it. And really, who cares if I get hurt. I've been hurt before, right? And I've survived. Surely, your rejection can't represent the end of my entire existence. Or is it more like, since we're so alike, it'll be like crossing dimensions, so it'll be the ultimate rejection of myself in a way. And then something will implode somewhere.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Either way, whatever. I don't care. So what.
